Wedded Wednesday - A Wedding Survey

Wedded Wednesday is a collaboration
of married bloggers sharing their inspirations,
anecdotes, struggles and thoughts regarding
the amazing union of two separate people, as one.

I hope you'll forgive me for the fluff for this weeks Wedded Wednesday. I've been posting a lot of heavy, long-winded stuff lately and thought that it might be nice to do something light & airy instead ;)

**I stole this from the super sweet Jane over at Musings of an Anonymous Newlywed. And to be clear, we married at the courthouse on April 4, 2009 (which is what we base our Anniversary on), but we had a "vow renewal" that we called our "faux-wedding" on August 1, 2009...I'm answering these questions about the faux-wedding, since it makes more sense.

1) When was your wedding day?
**August 1, 2009.

2) What day of the week was it?
**Saturday.

3) Did you get married in a church?
**Nope...it was a backyard wedding at a family friends home with the reception held in their rose garden.

4) How many in your wedding party?
**My best friend was Maid of Honor and Mr. Lukie's best friend was Best Man. We had our 14-year old dog, Six, as our Ring Bearer and my 4 year old sister was the Flower Girl.

5) Where was your reception?
**In the rose garden at the house we had the wedding at. It was beautiful!

6) How many guests were invited to your wedding?
**Around 90...but between 75 and 80 attended.

7) How long did you wait to tie the knot after your proposal?
**He proposed on February 14, 2009 (read the awesome story here and here!) and we ran off to the courthouse on April 4, 2009 (story here!), even though we had already planned an August 1st wedding. We just wanted to be married so badly!

8) Who did you hire as your photographer & videographer?
**We decided against the videographer thing. To us, it was a waste of money. But Mr. Lukie's Fire Captain videoed the whole thing for us as a gift! So sweet :) Our photographer was a friend of a FF friend who also did our Engagement Photos. She was absolutely amazing!

9) Did you have a dj or a band?
**2 weeks before the wedding, we finally made the decision to hire a DJ. He was, surprisingly, really good & understood exactly what we wanted.

10) Did your father walk you down the aisle?
**Yes :)

11) What color were the bridesmaid dresses & groomsmen vests?
**MOH dress was kelly green and Best Man wore linen colored pants with a white button up and a linen colored coat. Nothing fancy!

13) Did you have a bridal shower?
**One of my dearest high school friends through one for me here in San Diego. It was perfect & my mom was able to fly out here for it.

14) What type of limo did you get?
**No limo!

15) Where did you go for your bachelorette/bachelor party?
**We took a limo wine tasting in Temecula, then downtown San Diego to a hotel & hung out in the room & had some cocktails. Then off to Fred's Mexican for dinner & more cocktails, then out to a few clubs to dance, then back to the hotel to sleep. Breakfast the next morning & that was it!

16) What type of wedding gown/tux did you two wear?
**I wore an ivory Demetrios strapless, fitted dress. He wore a linen looking suit with a tie that matched the Ring Bearers collar (which held the rings in a pouch that attached to the collar).

17) How was the weather?
**Perfect Southern California weather! In the 70's just before sunset with a slight breeze.

18) Where did you go on your honeymoon?
**Kauai. Oh, I would give anything to go back again!

19) What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
**I don't know that I had a favorite part. To be honest, I could have gone without the faux-wedding, but certain family members insisted. Certain family members who caused so much stress & drama the week prior to and the day of the wedding that we haven't spoken to said family member since. Sadness.

20) Funniest thing you remember from the day?
**Just our little precious Six digging up flower bed upon flower bed searching for a mouse that eluded him. ::sigh::

21) How long have you been married?
**7 months, 7 days.
