  2. Hats off to your hero husband. I LOVE hero quotes. Here are a few of my favorites: "A hero is simply someone who rises above his or her own human weaknesses, for an hour, a day, a year, to do something stirring." Betty Deramus ~ "There are those whose lives affect all others around them. Quietly touching one heart, who in turn, touches another. Reaching out to ends further than they would ever know." William Bradfield ~ "Most people are like you and me, or the people across the street or around the world from you and me. Just like you and me, their hearts tell them that somewhere, somehow they can make a positive difference in the world." William Baker ~ "I think the purpose of life is to be useful, responsible, honorable, compassionate. It is, above all, to matter: to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you lived at all." Leo Rosten ~ "We can choose to be affected by the world or we can choose to affect the world." Heidi Wills

  3. I love it! I've been frustrated around here lately as City of Atlanta has really made it difficult for men who serve there to do it without suffering greatly! Paycut after paycut and shame when anyone complains! Makes me sad. But, I realize that for my husband and yours, it's about more than a paycheck, it's a calling and an honor! I know mine couldn't do anything else, and I couldn't be prouder! Thanks for the reminders of what a hero looks like!

  6. Very cool! I love the picture of the antique. We have one similar here that was restored to it's former glory.

My hero just left to cover the shift of another officer who just had a death in the family. Unexpected, but life goes on.

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog!
